What We Carry
You've done the work and care deeply about how you show up in the world. But even when you understand yourself deeply, it can still be hard to feel fully at home.
There is wisdom in the ways you learned to cope. Many of the patterns we struggle with began as adaptations to stressful experiences or environments. Over time, they can become so familiar that we stop recognizing them as responses to what we've carried.
You might imagine the worst-case scenario, feel jumpy or snappy, or find yourself consistently drained, overwhelmed, or stuck. You might wonder why you aren't more “together” when your life looks fine from the outside. We may quietly assume other people are coping better, or believe that if we just keep trying, things will eventually get easier.
But the goal isn't to get rid of parts of yourself. It's to understand them with enough compassion that something new becomes possible. Including the possibility that you no longer have to battle yourself.
